Web Designer & Developer: Collaborated with Graphic Designers, Product Managers, Marketing Specialists, and Copywriters for the creation, implementation and maintenance of responsive and compelling website designs, WordPress themes, individual landing pages and various web-based assets.
- Leveraged a user-centred approach to define needs accurately and create harmonious visual designs, ensuring an enjoyable experience; analyzed visitor data to improve layouts and provide design suggestions.
- Performed accessibility/usability assessments and provided recommendations to improve user experience.
- Set up and provided admin support for WordPress installations, and implemented content updates on a SharePoint-powered intranet.
Accomplishments
- Our main external website, Ceridian.ca, was the recipient of multiple WebAwards in 2010, 2012, 2014, and 2016.
- Collaborated with another Web Designer to redesign a 300-page bilingual website consisting of static HTML/CSS pages; created and coded the CSS and Dreamweaver templates for the project.
- Set up and administrated two multi-site WordPress networks and created several parent/child themes from scratch for the sites that needed special features such as bilingualism.
- Implemented event/news feeds on static HTML pages by passing RSS feeds through a self-implemented web application which converted them to JSON, and then used jQuery to render the data as HTML.
- Gathered requirements from internal clients for a sidebar promo on a WordPress blog and configured a plugin to allow non-technical users to create dynamic promos (including Eloqua forms) without any coding experience.
- Implemented a series of jQuery scripts on an HTML registration form to increase functionality and usability; added chained select boxes, streamlined form by showing/hiding elements based on selections, allowed dynamic addition of more fields if needed, and created dynamic confirmation pages and email templates using PHP and HTML.
